Natural Sciences Collections Association

NatSCA is concerned with all aspects of the care and use of natural sciences collections, particularly biological collections. Members are drawn from across the natural science community, working in curation, conservation, interpretation, administration and education. Membership is open to individuals and institutions and is international.

Benefits of membership:-

• Participation in the community of natural science collections staff.
• Network for information exchange.
• Publications - three Newsletters a year with news, reviews articles, adverts for courses/seminars and jobs.
• Annual conference, sometimes held jointly with other organisations.
• Training seminars and workshops, foreign study trips.

The following memberships rates apply from 2003 until further notice:

• UK Personal members ₤15.00
• Overseas personal members ₤15.00
• UK and overseas institutional members ₤30.00

Subscription year runs from 1st February to 31st January. Renewal notices are sent out each year.

To join, please print off and follow the instructions on the membership form, or contact the membership secretary, Maggie Reilly on mreilly@museum.gla.ac.uk. All payments must be made in sterling. Bank drafts should be drawn with banks that have a branch in the UK. We regret we are unable to accept payment by Visa or in foreign currencies. USA members can contact the membership secretary for details of an alternative way to pay their sub.

If you are a UK personal member, you can pay your subscription by standing order which is convenient for both you and us. Just print out the standing order form, fill it in and send it to your bank. Please let us know that you have done this - we don't always get clear information on automated payments from the bank so it is essential we know who has set up standing orders. Please email Maggie Reilly to do this.

NatSCA, as a holder of personal information about its members, complies with the Data Protection Act. We hold this information on a database and in hard copy. This information is used only for NatSCA purposes i.e. mailings of the Newsletter or other information to membership and is not passed on to any other organisation. You can elect to have your name removed from the database but this will mean we are unable to mail you any information. Please inform us by contacting the membership secretary if you wish to have your name removed from the database.
