After graduating, I spent a summer on a vacation studentship at the Natural History Museum in London working for Juliet Clutton-Brock, curating artiodactyl osteological material. After this I came back to Glasgow , initially to take up a technical post at the Zoology Museum but within a year I was appointed museum assistant (ie assistant curator) in Zoology. I also did some teaching , demonstrating in 1st year student biology labs. I am responsible for all aspects of running the Zoology museum - collections care and management, access, University teaching, exhibition, education, administration and so on. Over the last few years I have become increasingly involved in middle management functions in the wider Hunterian and in the last two years have taken on a measure of responsibility for the medical collections at Glasgow University.
